This is beautiful and rare Chaturbhuja Ganesha statue. In Hindu mythology, Chaturbhuja Shree Ganesha is the the posture in which Lord Ganesha has four hands. The upper right hand has a 'Pharsa' or an axe symbolizing cutting attachment bonds. The lower right hand is raised with palm facing outwards away from the body with fingers flexed. This gesture is called 'Abhayamudra' and offers protection for all from evil. The upper left hand is shown holding a conch, 'Shankha' which is considered pious and represents the call to come and pray. The lower left had holds a special sweet called 'Modak or Ladoo' which is the favourite sweet of Lord Ganesha.
