Lord Ganesh is the elephant-headed God, who is known as Lord of Beginnings and the Lord of Obstacles. He is regarded as the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The Ganesha Idol in this Diya has four hands, elephant's head and a big belly. He is normally shown with one hand in the abhaya pose of protection and refuge and the second holding a sweet (modaka) symbolic of the sweetness of the realized inner self. In the two hands behind him he often holds an ankusha (elephant goad) and a pasha (noose).
At the base of the dancing Ganesha, is a diya (lamp). The dancing Ganesha is considered very good for Vaastu (the Indian concept of directions) and it is very auspicious to have a dancing Ganesha facing the entrance of your home or office. This wall hanging is appropriate to be placed at the entrance of your home or office. This also makes a great decorative item for your home. Excellent gift for occasions like house warming's and other traditional functions.
